Cyber Threat is when someone uses modern technology, such as the internet or mobile phone, to threaten or blackmail others.
Cyber Threat is simply any activity that involves sending malicious text messages, emails or creating hate groups on social media sites.

As a teacher, what can you do?

  1. Understand your tools:Teachers should be aware of the procedures to block and report to support your students in creating incident reports of sites with inappropriate contents.
  2. Discuss Cyber Threats:Discuss with your students the process of Cyber threat, why and how they occur and its consequences. Who can help you? Make sure that you know whose help to seek in case of such threats in your school
  3. Speak to a trusted adult: Encourage your students to speak to trustworthy adults about electronic threats.

Advice that you can give to your students

  1. Do not respond: bullies always try to annoy their victims, remind your students that they should not respond to their threats, you give them what they want once you respond.
  2. Keep evidence: encourage your students to retain evidence of any threat, such as text messages or emails.
  3. Speak to a trusted adult: Encourage your students to speak to trustworthy adults about electronic threats.
